The Challenge: A Project Quoting Bottleneck

A swift quote response is crucial for any manufacturing company. Studies have shown that 78% of jobs are won by first responder companies. However, AppVest’s former approach to quoting led to a delayed response time.

Previously, AppVest outsourced aspects of their quoting system, consulting experts to review requests before responding to their customers. Waiting for responses from these third parties stagnated the quoting process. In fact, for some projects, AppVest took days to respond to their customers’ requests.

As well as response time, AppVest was limited in the number of quotes it could respond to. Bayram describes that if they received 50 quotes, they only had the time and resources to respond to 3 or 4.

“We used some experts’ help to put together our quotes,” said AppVest Co-Founder Bayram Tanrisedvi. “We had to combine the information and send it to them which made us strongly dependent on this one person.”

The Solution: AMFG’s Instant Quote Functionality

AppVest knew it needed a software solution to address these issues and support the company as it scaled. After thoroughly exploring all options, Bayram found that AMFG was the standout option.

“We worked with most of the software in the market. So we’ve tried most of them. After that we came to AMFG.” said Bayram.

The instant quote functionalities of the software have allowed AppVest to bring their quoting capabilities in-house and slash the time and effort spent quoting. Now, AppVest is more efficient and more independent.

“With our engineers spending less time on quoting, they’re freed up to work on R&D for the part manufacturers, exploring ways to fit the parts in the machine etc. Most importantly the engineer can work on a lot more projects and parts at the same time which can increase the revenue of the company.”

Bayram cites the ability to tailor AMFG to AppVest’s operations as another major draw, for example, using the formula editor feature to provide quotes. As Bayram explained, “It’s great to be able to input my own formulas into the system.”

Furthermore, thanks to AMFG’s knowledge database, the more the software is used the more it adapts to a company’s system. After using AMFG for some time, the software is working intuitively with AppVest’s operations.“The system has become just like us over time, this is the most important part from our end.” said Bayram.

These features only scratch the surface of the benefits AppVest has experienced since implementing AMFG. The software has allowed AppVest to be more efficient with their file management and documentation uploads which has been vital for ISO 9001 compliance. Moreover, with AMFG’s project tracking functionality, AppVest did not require any additional or external software to manage their manufacturing processes. The Result: Greater Project Capacity

Since implementing AMFG, AppVest has seen a significant boost in its quoting capacity. Before using the software, AppVest was only able to respond to 3 or 4 quotes for every 50 they received. This response rate has leapt up from 6-8% to 100%.

“If we receive 50 quotes, we provide 50 quotes. If there are 15 quotes, we provide 15 quotes. We can do this because the time it takes to quote has reduced so much.” Bayram commented.

AppVest no longer spends days waiting for third parties to review quote requests, reducing quote response times drastically. For some smaller-scale prototyping projects, AppVest can now respond in just 10 or 15 minutes. AppVest is thrilled with the results that it has achieved with AMFG and will continue to use the software to support the company’s growth.
