London, December: We are thrilled to announce that AMFG has partnered with Adaero to lower the skills barrier for estimating on the shop floor.
Based in Exeter, U.K, Adaero was founded in 1988, and quickly became widely recognised for their precision engineering capabilities. Adaero works across an array of industries including Motorsports, Aerospace and Defence, Medical, and Specialist Engineering, and has a reputation for completing highly skilled work with unparalleled quality.
As Adaero grew, so did their workload, and eventually their engineers found themselves spending more time on estimates than on the shop floor. Adaero decided to free up time for their engineers by enabling other staff members to take on estimating work. However, there were worries that those without specialised engineering backgrounds might struggle, as estimating usually requires extensive training and experience.
Andrew Cockram, Senior Engineer at Adaero, explained “We wanted something that would make estimating simple, without losing the accuracy that comes with years of specialised knowledge and practice.”
AMFG provided the solution. By building a customised internal management tool based on Adaero’s own pricing logic, quick and accurate estimating became as simple as clicking a few buttons. AMFG added auto-suggestions to ensure those without experience can easily manage more complex work, with the same high standards as a trained engineer. AMFG’s software manages the entire workflow; once an estimate is finished, a quote form is automatically filled and sent to the customer with a single click, saving time and hassle throughout the entire estimating process.
Lowering the skills barrier for estimating has freed up time for Adaero’s engineers, enabling them to spend more time on the shop floor, and upskilled their workforce as a whole.
Henry Morris, Head of Machine Shops at AMFG, commented “We’re thrilled to see AMFG has helped Adaero lower the estimating skills barrier so successfully, so that their engineers can save time, and focus on completing more jobs.”
